Neuroeducación y formación ciudadana: Estrategias para el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico y la participación democrática

La presente obra analiza la contribución de la neuroeducación al fortalecimiento de la formación ciudadana, el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico y la participación democrática en el contexto de la educación contemporánea, con especial énfasis en el Bachillerato General Unificado del sistema educativo ecuatoriano. El propósito consiste en integrar los avances de las neurociencias cognitivas, la psicología del aprendizaje, la pedagogía, la educación para la ciudadanía y las políticas educativas con el fin de ofrecer fundamentos científicos y orientaciones metodológicas que permitan diseñar prácticas pedagógicas innovadoras, inclusivas y sustentadas en evidencia. La elaboración del libro se desarrolló mediante un enfoque cualitativo de carácter documental, descriptivo e interpretativo, apoyado en una revisión sistemática y crítica de literatura científica especializada, documentos normativos nacionales e internacionales, investigaciones publicadas en revistas indexadas, informes de organismos multilaterales y aportes teóricos de reconocidos autores en los campos de la neuroeducación, las ciencias cognitivas y la educación ciudadana. Complementariamente, se incorporó el análisis de experiencias pedagógicas contextualizadas y la sistematización de estrategias didácticas aplicables a la realidad educativa ecuatoriana, estableciendo un diálogo permanente entre la evidencia científica, el currículo nacional y la práctica docente. La obra se estructura en cinco capítulos que abordan, de manera progresiva, los fundamentos conceptuales de la neuroeducación, la formación ciudadana en los sistemas educativos contemporáneos, el pensamiento crítico como competencia esencial del siglo XXI, las metodologías activas y los ambientes inclusivos para el aprendizaje, y la aplicación de estrategias neurodidácticas en el Bachillerato General Unificado. Entre los principales aportes se evidencia que la comprensión del funcionamiento cerebral, la plasticidad neuronal, las funciones ejecutivas, la regulación emocional y la motivación constituyen elementos determinantes para favorecer aprendizajes significativos, fortalecer la capacidad de análisis y argumentación, promover la toma de decisiones fundamentadas y consolidar competencias ciudadanas orientadas a la convivencia democrática, la participación responsable y el ejercicio ético de la ciudadanía. Asimismo, se concluye que la incorporación de principios neuroeducativos en la planificación curricular y en las prácticas pedagógicas contribuye a mejorar la calidad de los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje, favoreciendo ambientes educativos más inclusivos, colaborativos y contextualizados, capaces de responder a los desafíos derivados de la transformación digital, la inteligencia artificial, la alfabetización mediática y las demandas sociales del siglo XXI. En este sentido, el libro constituye un recurso académico dirigido a docentes, investigadores, estudiantes de educación, responsables de políticas públicas y profesionales interesados en promover una educación fundamentada en evidencia científica, orientada al desarrollo integral de los estudiantes y a la formación de ciudadanos críticos, participativos y comprometidos con el fortalecimiento de sociedades democráticas, sostenibles e interculturales.
